I am always working hard to bring you the breaking gastronomic news of Tonbridge and the local area. And let’s focus on the word news – I usually like to check my facts and tell you the definitive ‘word on the street’ about new places popping up but in this post, I have to admit that some of it is rumour. Quite well-founded rumour but as yet I haven’t been able to obtain the facts that I so need!
If you know something about the following new places or can tell me about any foodie goings-on in Tonbridge, please contact me – eatreviewer@gmail.com! I’m very good at keeping a secret!
So here goes, in no particular order …..
Verdigris is sparkling in the sunshine after its lick of paint. The signage looks fantastic & I’m told they’re on track to open mid-June – I know, I can’t wait either!
Rocco’s is the new name for The Pepper Grinder, the sandwich shop opposite Havet. The staff is thrilled with the makeover they’ve had! Good luck to the new owner!
This is the old John Angell jewellers which I’ve heard is going to become a micro-brewery and pub.
Originally, Heasman’s the jewellers, then Tonbridge Creates and soon to be, I hear, a sushi bar! Below was Favola the ice cream shop next to Grace but I have heard from two independent sources that it is going to be a cat cafe … I kid you not!
I popped in here and still about two weeks to opening …
And last bit not least, the Fire Station is looking to expand with a second site outside Tonbridge. Watch this space! (Don’t forget to vote for them in the Best Bar category in the Muddy Stilettos awards!)
Hey there- any news on when Verdigris is opening? It’s all gone very quiet on that front.
