I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas – I was imagining you scoffing mince pies, glugging mulled wine, eating cornflakes with Baileys whilst planning your long walks on Boxing Day! Thanks again to everyone who entered the ’12 Days of Feastmas’ competition – if you’re a winner and missing part of your prize or need some help then please email me at eatreviewer@gmail.com. I think everyone has their prizes but it’s hard to keep track! Please send in pics of you enjoying your prize/s with family and friends and I’ll feature them on the blog! As promised, some town news….160 High Street is going to become Creams Factory, an ‘authentic Italian gelato’ pit stop. They’re hoping to open early 2017 so I’ll keep you posted. We wish them lots of luck with the venture! Also, after such a successful year as winner of Best Newcomer in the Kent Life Food and Drink Awards, Sulston’s Kitchen is going to start to offer ‘eat-in’ as of 2017. This is a great addition to ‘Soto’ (south Tonbridge – do you like it?! can we make it stick??)! Good luck to Ben & Kirsty! If you hear of any other foodie news, do let me know – eatreviewer@gmail.com. Have a great New Year and see you in 2017!
*** 12 Days of Feastmas *** Day 12 – TRIPLE WHAMMY!!!
It’s the last day of the competition *sob*. But dry your tears, we’re going out with a bang! Ignore what it says on the banner….we have not one, not two, but three prizes on offer today! The lovely Finch House has given us £30 vouchers; Dan at The Ivy House has donated £40 off a meal + a bottle of wine and David from 65mm coffee, Tonbridge Old Fire Station’s resident coffee shop, has offered a week’s worth of free coffee (7 coffees)! There will be three winners but just one question. The first person chosen at random tomorrow will win the Finch House vouchers; the second, The Ivy House; and the third, 7 free coffees from 65mm Coffee. The question: in the popular Christmas song, “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, what did the true love send on the 12th day? Please enter via my Facebook page, Twitter, @eat_tonbridge or in the comment box below. Huge thanks to Daron, Dan and David for the prizes! Good luck all!
*** 12 Days of Feastmas *** Day 11 – Debbie Stranack Wholefood Wake-up
Firstly, VICTORIA – you entered day 9 of 12 Days of Feastmas and you won! You entered via the website but I don’t have a surname. Please get in touch with me via email eatreviewer@gmail.com regarding your prize. Yesterday you revealed your favourite Christmas food – my mouth was watering although, not for the sprouts! Today, may I introduce you to Debbie Stranack & her Wholefood Wake-up. Debbie, an IIN health coach from Hadlow, will be featured in a January blog but in the meantime, she has kindly donated a prize of an hour’s health food cookery lesson… a great way to kick start 2017. Let me tell you about her healthy food – it tastes FANTASTIC! My weakness is her healthy Millionaire’s Slice which is divine but she also makes healthy raw chocolates, gluten-free seed-only crackers, hummus, pesto and other veggie based dishes with sensational flavours and textures. Debbie doesn’t just create snacks, this is a way of life for her and during the hour, she’ll be able to advise you on the small changes you can make to improve your eating habits. To enter, I just want to know from which country pesto originates. Easy peasy. Please enter via my Facebook page, Twitter, @eat_tonbridge or in the comment box below. Thank you Debbie for the prize! Good Luck followers – enter now!
*** 12 Days of Feastmas *** Day 10 – The Gate House
The Gate House is a new feature on our High Street but is inhabiting a familiar space. The modern décor is inviting and when I went in recently with friends, it was really buzzing with a varied clientele. Simon and the team at The Gate House have kindly offered Eat Around Tonbridge a great prize for Day 10- only a meal for two! By Day 10, I know quite a lot about my lovely followers – fave Christmas drinks, Boxing Day past times, favourite Christmas songs – but I don’t know your favourite Christmas food! It could be sweet, savoury, home made or bought, a recipe from Nigella or a recipe from great-aunt Maud – please share! One of my recent faves is Nigella’s gingerbread stuffing – amazing! Please enter via my Facebook page, Twitter, @eat_tonbridge or in the comment box below. Thank you Simon and good luck followers! Eat Reviewer

Final Jobs’ Board of 2016
This might be the final job board post of 2016 but it doesn’t mean that the jobs have all been taken! There are still jobs available so check out the Eat Around Tonbridge Jobs’ Board here. The jobs’ board came about because I saw lots of catering and hospitality jobs popping up in and around Tonbridge and the support from local food and drink establishments has been great. But, I’d really like to hear from YOU – have you found the jobs’ board useful? Have you found a job via the jobs’ board? I’d love to hear any of your comments on this subject so please contact me either via Facebook, Twitter @eat_tonbridge or in the comment box below. Thank you for your support and see you in 2017.
