BALTIC PORTER DAY with PöHJALA

Baltic Porter is a style that has been an important part of Pöhjala’s story since day one, and this year they’re beginning an annual celebration of that – Baltic Porter Day! Please join us for the celebrations on Saturday 15th January and share their love of long dark nights and strong beers!
Tartu, Estonia is considered one of the original birthplaces of what would become known as Baltic Porter, and the style has remained an important part of Estonian beer heritage ever since.
Hence, why at Pöhjala they knew that their very first brew, ‘Oo’, must be an Imperial Baltic Porter which they have brewed continuously since that day and had the pleasure of spreading their love for the style across the globe.
A true celebration of the Baltic Porter, this beer features a luxuriously rich malt base with flavours, of toasted rye bread, red berries, and dark chocolate and aged on Palo Santo wood. Native to South America and known as the “holy wood” in Spanish, this adds aromatic notes of vanilla, toasted almonds, eucalyptus and fresh mint, with a long, smooth finish.
