The Cook Book Trail!

It is a beautiful book, full of wonderful recipes and, actually, it also serves as a great guide to eating out in west Kent.

Why awards are so important!

I was a finalist in So magazine’s Lifestyle awards and it meant such a lot – it gave me a boost, made me feel valued by you all and also gave the blog and Tonbridge some extra exposure (thanks once again to everyone that nominated and voted for me).  Awards are really important to all businesses – they are a pat on the back, a marketing opportunity and a chance for businesses, large and small, to really think about where they excel.

Great Tonbridge Cake-Off!  Yes, this weekend is the bank holiday weekend and it’s the Tonbridge Food and Drink Festival.  If you haven’t been before it’s FREE, it’s on the Castle Lawn and there are lots of food and drink stalls selling lots of lovely produce.  Here is a video from last year and you can check out more on my new You Tube channel This was when I first arrived – look at the weather, looks like it’ll be a scorcher this year too!  Anyway, the reference to GBBO is that there is a Cake-Off this year again on both Saturday and Sunday and yours truly will be a judge on Sunday – I’m very excited!   To enter, all you need to do is: Bake a cake yourself and decorate it Deliver it to the main stage by 1pm on day of entry  Simples!  There are three age ranges – 5-11yrs; 12-15 yrs; 16 and over and we’d like just one cake per family please!  Judging takes place at 2.30pm on both days.  So as Mel and Sue, and Neil and Sandi say, “Bake!” and I’ll look forward to eating some of them on Sunday! p.s. I do have the answers to those GBBO questions you all asked – just waiting for Tonbridge to calm down on new places opening and then I’ll publish!
