Packed with tender pork, tangy cider, and aromatic herbs, this dish is a comforting classic that’s sure to impress. I made it for the boys recently and they ended up licking their plates!
Ingredients:
- 1.2kg pork shoulder, diced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 onions, finely sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tbsp plain flour
- 500ml dry cider – you can use anything but I find a bottle of Biddenden Strong Kentish Cider does the job.
- 500ml chicken stock
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- A handful of fresh sage leaves
- 2 carrots, thickly sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method:
- Heat the olive oil in your Ninja Foodi using the sauté function and brown the pork in batches. Remove and set aside.
- Add the onions and garlic, cooking until softened. Stir in the flour and cook for another minute.
- Gradually pour in the cider, stirring constantly to deglaze the pan. Add the stock, mustard, and sage.
- Return the pork to the pot, along with the carrots. Season with salt and pepper.
- Switch to the slow cook function and set the timer for 6-8 hours on low. Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
