COVID 19 – Tonbridge foodies – what they’re doing

Morning all. We find ourselves in strange times and our beloved High Street is going to go through a tough time. Here is a list of food and drink businesses and details of what they’re doing in the wake of COVID-19. PLEASE SUPPORT THEM IF YOU CAN! At the moment, the Government has not told places to close so they are still open.

These details will change over time I’m sure so stay posted. Please share with your friends and relatives and, again, support if you can..

THURSDAY UPDATE

The George & Dragon – closed until further notice

TOFS – closed Hoping to start deliveries of food soon. Watch this space.

Nancy’s – closed except for parties already booked in. Please contact them if you wish to cancel your booking.

The Nelson Arms – closed but doing takeaways of food, beer and wine from Friday, delivery available.

Basil – reduced hours 10-3pm

Ferah – open 7 days a week at the moment. Takeaway available and delivery by Deliveroo

Sankey’s – per my stories yesterday, they are adding to their usual offering of fish and seafood delivery with day-to-day essentials such as pasta, cheese, milk etc. Check out their website for more details or call them on 01892 511422.

Pizza Olivia – open for collection and delivery only. The pizza will go from the oven to the pizza box, uncut unless requested 01732 368364. 

Seasons by Nature Fruit & Veg boxes – as well Rob at Pavilion Flowers, more fruit and veg boxes are available and they were flooded with enquiries yesterday. See below for details:

We will then contact you with a delivery time and arrange payment with you.
We aim to deliver all orders the following day subject to payment being made.
If you wish to add anything to the boxes we  will try to accommodate your requests.
All orders are subject to availability and any reasonable substitutes will be made depending upon availability.

2 large baking potatoes ,1 Sweetheart Cabbage, 1 Head Broccoli, 3 Carrots, 2 Parsnips,  1 Cucumber, 1 Red onion, 2 Tomatoes, 2 Bananas, 2 Green Apples, 2 Satsumas, 2 Flat Mushrooms , 1 handful of beans.

For £25
1 kilo of bananas, 5 red apples, 5 satsumas, 1 pineapple, 5 pears, 2.5kilos potatoes, 1 Savoy cabbage, 1 red cabbage, 1kilo parsnips, 1 kilo carrots, 1 kilo onions, 1 butternut squash, 1 kilo tomatoes, 1 iceberg lettuce, 1 cucumber, 1 head garlic, 1 head broccoli.

For £35
All the £25 box plus 2 large courgettes, 2 large sweet potatoes, 1 large green, yellow and red pepper, 1 cauliflower, 1 packet of radish, 1 bunch of spring onions, 1 punnet of cherry tomatoes and 2 red chili’s.

Deliveries are made Tuesday through Friday and we are taking orders now.

We are currently just delivering to Tonbridge and surrounding areas, as we are unsure of the demand at this troubling time.

Restaurants and cafes – Many have introduced extra steps for their staff and customers with regard to hygiene and cleanliness.

Open – Verdigris, 65mm, The Beer Seller, Havet, Ferah, Gaab Kao (open + Deliveroo delivery), Hattusa (open + Just Eat delivery), Creams, Alishan, The Bakehouse

Finch House – no change to opening hours. Celebration cakes available to order and be delivered. In the coming days, full Finch House menu will be available on Deliveroo. I’ll keep you updated. Don’t forget Brownies by Finch which can be delivered nationally and internationally and might just cheer someone up who is self-isolating!

Ela Bella – will deliver. Just give them a call 017320353660. Also offering ‘any help at all’ and ‘we are all in this together’.

Fuggles – open but closing slightly earlier for cleaning at 10pm. Menu trimmed down to toasties only. Limit on number of people they’re allowing in for social distancing purposes and you must sanitise your hands before you order at the bar. All events have been cancelled for the foreseeable. Take-out available and delivery available (require notice and minimum order) so you don’t need to run out of beer!

Paws Cat Café – open. Happy for people to buy gift vouchers for future visits. If people can’t make their allotted time, they would be grateful if the fee was donated here which will go towards the ongoing welfare of the cats. Number of people in the cafe will be reduced with slots every 30 minutes rather than every 15 minutes. Takeaway coffee available but they will not use customers’ reusable cups for hygiene reasons.
