The Gate House is a new feature on our High Street but is inhabiting a familiar space. The modern décor is inviting and when I went in recently with friends, it was really buzzing with a varied clientele.
Simon and the team at The Gate House have kindly offered Eat Around Tonbridge a great prize for Day 10- only a meal for two!

By Day 10, I know quite a lot about my lovely followers – fave Christmas drinks, Boxing Day past times, favourite Christmas songs – but I don’t know your favourite Christmas food! It could be sweet, savoury, home made or bought, a recipe from Nigella or a recipe from great-aunt Maud – please share!
One of my recent faves is Nigella’s gingerbread stuffing – amazing!
Please enter via my Facebook page, Twitter, @eat_tonbridge or in the comment box below.
Thank you Simon and good luck followers!

My wifes Baileys chocolate cheesecake.
Banoffee pie made with a pastry base!
Has to be my mother in law’s mincemeat which I then make in to mince pies.
On Boxing Day, my grandmother fries leftover Christmas pudding in butter. It’s amazing but will probably finish me off one day!
I love Xmas pudding with brandy cream accompanied with a glass of bubbly. I’m always a bit sad when it’s all gone.
It’s gotta be macaroons! Not home made…bought of course! They are a treat and what better time to treat yourself than at Xmas time!! 🙂
Raspberry pavlova, always homemade, it’s the best!
Same as Jo, pavlova!
Pigs in blankets all the way!
I have a few lol
Those gingerbread biscuits they sell in Lidl’s, extra have to be brought so we can munch them into the new year.
My mums bread sauce is epic. She has been told to make extra this year by everyone 😂
It’s the only time of year I let myself indulge in lots of cheese so it has to be that!! As many different ones as possible with biscuits and chutneys is my idea of food heaven!!
Roast parsnips and trifle made by my mum ( not together) make Christmas.
For me it has to be mincepies
Definitely has to be a good Christmas boozy Cointreau trifle!
For me it has to be chocolate fridge cake. Rich, firm chocolate with fruit, marshmallow and shortbread pieces. Yuuuuummmmmmy
It’s got to be slow braised red cabbage with red current jelly and spices.
