You know I always want to keep you abreast of the Tonbridge food and drink goings-on and I have a few things to share. Some are definitely news and some I’m a little bit vaguer on – if you have any info to share please do! Here goes …
Hattusa, the Turkish restaurant which currently has branches in Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and Crowborough, is opening a takeaway here in Tonbridge on the corner of Avebury Avenue. Tonbridge is the latest place in the Anatolian food empire and they hope to open in June!
The Beer Seller opens its Hidden Seller tomorrow, Monday 29th April. The Hidden Seller is a small shop above the main bar selling artisanal drinks. It also serves as a tasting room and events for up to ten people can be booked now! Well worth a visit … look out for my more detailed blog next week …
I think most people know that the owners of The Carpenters Arms on Three Elm Lane are taking over The Ivy House. I haven’t been able to speak to them properly yet – I had heard a rumour of it opening in June but when I spoke to someone this week, I received the impression that they had encountered some unexpected issues and therefore delays. Watch that space.
Bit late to the party on this one but yes, Saltwaters’ management and staff are still involved in the new look fish and chip shop on Tonbridge High Street.
As you can see, this used to be the Portuguese restaurant and the rumour is that it will become a Turkish restaurant. Information on it is rather vague but I am told it will be opening ‘soon’. I haven’t seen much progress though so we’ll have to wait and see!
The news on Hatussa came from a lovely EAT follower so thank you to that person. Please do contact me if you have any news or even just a rumour and I can investigate.
Right, off to enjoy my Gurkha Planet curry. Enjoy your Sunday evening!
