Brunch for all the family – ✅

Brunch. It’s the meal that’s been around for years but in 2019, the meal that lies somewhere between breakfast and lunch seems to be gaining in popularity. My timeline is full of posts from cafes and restaurants promoting their brunch offerings which seemingly can be enjoyed anytime - alongside the snack, this has to be one of the most versatile meals.

12 Days of Feastmas – an update!

December is nearly upon us and I’m going to run 12 Days of Feastmas again - whoop whoop I hear you shout! I know! I’m excited too! If you follow me on Instagram (@eat_tonbridge) you’ll know that I ran a poll on my stories a while ago about whether to run it in January instead of December - January is such a dull month for many of us that I thought it would be a great pick-me-up. But, the lovely team at Chasing Connor’s Cure are running a raffle in January and I didn’t want to get in the way of that - such a great charity and they all work really hard[...]

Why awards are so important!

I was a finalist in So magazine's Lifestyle awards and it meant such a lot - it gave me a boost, made me feel valued by you all and also gave the blog and Tonbridge some extra exposure (thanks once again to everyone that nominated and voted for me).  Awards are really important to all businesses - they are a pat on the back, a marketing opportunity and a chance for businesses, large and small, to really think about where they excel.

Still a blog about food!

Kick Start has been set up by two personal trainers, Kieran Bhugobaun of Double A Fitness and Alex Rich of True Fit who've teamed up to create a 5 day plan which involves a personal training session every day for five days in the Carlson Gracie gym on Vale Road, Tonbridge plus breakfast and lunch from Sulston's Kitchen.  As the name suggests, the idea is to 'kick start' participants into exercise whilst providing healthy, nutritious, tasty food to keep you on the path to a fitter you. [...]

A leep of faith, 65mm Coffee, Tonbridge Old Fire Station

Yesterday Eat Around Tonbridge launched “Bring a friend February!” where you introduce a friend from near or far to somewhere new in Tonbridge.  And why not 65mm coffee?  Ensconced in The Old Fire Station, it receives rave reviews on social media, is always busy and many say serves 'the best coffee in Tonbridge'. Tonbridge born David Leeper, the founder of 65mm alongside his partner Jade Derrick (65mm named as such because of their love of old films & picture houses), aren’t just chancing their luck.  David knows his stuff; in fact he[...]

3 days, 2 meals, 1 venue – Eating at The Old Fire Station, Tonbridge 11 & 13 May

'Why would you go back to the same place twice in one week?' I hear you cry.  Well, that's because the venue is the Old Fire Station in Tonbridge, & variety is their signature dish.  In one week in May, The Old Fire Station was transformed into an art gallery for South East Open Studios,  & subsequently charitably hosted 'Empty Bowls' in aid of The Bridge Trust & Anglo-Dutch chef Justin Brown's two night residency.  If the events are the variables, then the venue is the constant: the high ceilings give the room space[...]
